There is a story in Auburn Undercover that Bruce Pearl is a serious contender. We have someone in the athletic department who was with the NCAA when Pearl was under investigation and convicted so to speak. Apparently he is vouching for Pearl. I say hire him! The program needs a shot of enthusiasm and I think Pearl would do it.
The baseball team will likely improve a little this year and hopefully alot in coming years. The problem is the SEC. South Carolina is undefeated at 16 and 0. LSU is great as always as is Vanderbilt. Ole Miss is good and so is Texas A & M. Tennessee is bouncing back. We could have a top 20 team and yet have a losing record because of the entraordinary competition in this league. It's brutal.
Spring training starts next week. We'll read about it but won't learn anything of consequence I suppose.
