Replays

I like watching replays of past Auburn games on CSS. The most commonly shown games are 2010 versus Alabama and 2005 versus Georgia. I never tire of seeing us win!

The Alabama Game

Local Channel 6 is showing some of the games each Sunday afternoon. Yesterday was the 1989 game, the first one at Jordan-Hare. How great it was to see it again!

It got me to thinking about my all-time favorites. Here goes:

1) It's hard to beat the 1989 game because it was the first time we were the true home team, the first one ever in Auburn. We won 30 to 20.

2) We will never forget last year when the Tigers overcame a 24-point deficit to win 28 to 27 at BD on our way to the National Championship.

3) The two-blocked punt game in 1972, though it was not on TV, ranks right up there because literally no one thought Auburn had a chance. Auburn 17 UAT 16.

4) Not many people thought we would in 1993. We were there when the Tigers prevailed 22 to 14 to cap an undefeated season.

5) The 2004 game in Tuscaloosa preserved an undefeated season.

Coach Chizik

It was great seeing the Coach autographing his new book at Lifeway books in Hoover yesterday. The crowd was large and enthusiastic. When I get to the table I ask him if he did exercises to keep his signing hand loose. Then I tell him Coach Yoxall will put him on a program when he gets back to Auburn. I think I amused the Coach!

Waiting

We are waiting for August, waiting for the start of another college football season. The Tigers will be defending their National Championship. Auburn is getting no respect in the preseason predictions. I have learned that preseason predictions don't mean a thing. Who cares where Auburn is picked.
