Auburn beats LSU

Auburn wins its first two SEC series of the season 2 to 1 over LSU after winning the series at Ole Miss last week. We lose today 4 to 3 which is disappointing, but the encouraging thing is that our pitching is strong. I expect to see the Tigers in action Tuesday night at Samford.

Spring Training Starts Today

The first spring training practice starts in a few minutes. Since the practices are closed & the spring game never telegraphs anything, we won't know anything of substance until the Fall.

Most people will assume that Frazier will be the starting QB. We hope that transfer fullback Jay Prosch will be eligible this year. I hope that we move toward a dominating defense Auburn style. There are plenty of talented bodies. Let's hope they are coached up.

Still it will be interesting to see the spring game. At this point we know nothing about how Auburn will line up offensive except that I assume we will see some two-back sets.

Tigers Win Series Against Ole Miss

Trailing 2 to 1 going into the 9th, the Tigers get three straight 2-out hits to beat the Rebels 3 to 2. Auburn wins the series 2 to 1. How often does a team get down to its final out then rally to win? This was a good one.

Basketball

The Nell Fortner era ended today with a tournament loss to Florida. At least we beat Alabama. The boys put up a fight last night before losing to Alabama 55 to 49. It's hard to make a judgement about Coach Barbee with all of the injuries and suspensions we've had. No doubt he'll be back next year and probably for years to come.
