Sick of It
A football prospect names his top 7 favorites in June before his senior year. How ridiculous. I'm sick of it. Tell who he signs with in February. That's all that matters.

After all of the Hullabaloo
The Big 12 survives minus Nebraska and Colorado. I wonder how those two schools feel now. I'm glad even though it means A & m won't be coming to the SEC.

Dominant SEC?
I read Phillip Marshall's column with interest. I hope he is right that the SEC will remain dominant in the college football world given the implosion of the Big 12 and the resulting windfall for the PAC 10. The SEC may or may not add Texas A & M and another school. The SEC may or may not end up raiding the ACC. Phillip is right in that no conference can touch the SEC as far as rivalries are concerned. But the PAC 10 may now dominate in terms of money and exposure. The PAC 10 could get two automatic BCS teams. What would the SEC do then? It would have to expand to get the same two automatic BCS invites. How are Texas and Oklahoma fans going to feel about having to travel to Washington, Oregon, not to mention Arizona and Californa from now on to see their team on the road? To the extent that expansion interrupts traditional rivalries and inconveniences fans, I don't like it. Texas-Arkansas used to be big a huge rivalry. Now it is no more.

No Rest from Football
It seems that there's no rest from college football anymore. I'd like to not think about it until August, but recruiting is a year-round thing now, and there's talk of conference realignment. News could come tomorrow if Nebraska bolts the Big 12 for the Big Ten.

So Many Baseball Players Drafted
We had 11 players drafted. Makes me wonder why we didn't do even better in the season.

Auburn Loses!
The Auburn baseball season ends with a 13 to 7 loss at home against Clemson in the concluding game of the regional. Auburn outhits Clemson 18 to 14 which tells you that we left a lot of men on base. Clemson's pitching was better thans ours. That's about it.

Auburn Wins!
Auburn beats Clemson 11 to 10 in an unbelievable baseball game, coming from behind with a 3-run homer in the top of the 9th by Creede Simpson, who had replaced Trent Mummey earlier. Simpson has ONE at bat in the game and he crushes a booming homer to left field with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the top of the 9th to win the game! The homer gives Auburn an 11 to 9 lead and we hold on the bottom of the 9th to beat the Clemson Tigers. It's Auburn baseball magic.
The regional will be decided tomorrow night starting at 6 p.m.
Auburn jumps out to a 5 to 1 lead but a disastrous 7-run 5th inning left us trailing 8 to 5. Auburn started chipping away & eventually it led to Creede Simpson's heroics.
Tomorrow night will be something win or lose. We will remember this one regardless of what happens tomorrow night for a long, long time.

The Regional Continues
The Tigers club Southern Miss 17 to 8 to advance to play Clemson tonight. We'll have to beat Clemson twice, which isn't going to happen, but at least we didn't embarassingly lose to the Golden Eagles.

Regional Win
We beat Jacksonville State 9 to 7. It was sloppy as we got outhit 13 to 9 and made 2 errors but you have to take it. Our pitching is so sketchy. It will take a lot more than this to beat Clemson tomorrow.
